My name is Denise and I am a creative director. Born and raised in Norfolk, Va, I developed a love for writing after my mother died at the age of 36. I can still remember very vividly my grandmother calling 6 year old me to her bedroom with a lion king journal awaiting me. This was only about a day or so after my mother’s earthly transition. My grandmother explained and encouraged me to write down all of my feelings to help me cope. Ever since that moment, I’ve been writing. I write about life lessons, love, grief, motherhood, music, and all the other experiences that makes life full.

I love to carry storytelling beyond pen and pad- to create stories through film, photography, art, and crafting. I also have a passion for music, dance, and directing (live stage-plays and film). I am a huge advocate for self-care and love engaging in conversations about nurturing ourselves through the many transitions of life. When I am not creating art or working my full-time, I’m off creating memories with my three daughters and husband.

This world that you have just entered is a collection of my thoughts, art, and truths gathered along from each transition of life.
